Funding will accelerate Gather AI's physical AI platform for delivering truth to global logistics
Today, we are proud to announce that Smith Point Capital has led a $40 million Series B investment in Gather AI. The round includes participation from Bain Capital Ventures, Tribeca Venture Partners, Bling Capital, Dundee Venture Capital, XRC Ventures, and new investor The Hillman Company.
Bridging the Warehouse's Billion-Dollar Blind Spot
Every year, global companies lose billions to the physical-digital divide between supply chain operations and their digital systems struggling to provide end-to-end visibility. Traditional AI has tried to address this blind spot by processing text, images, and historical data from digital systems but they fail to capture what is actually happening. Physical AI players, like Gather AI, use AI to interact with real world environments and are able to capture 100% of physical supply chain operations.
Think of it this way: with traditional AI, an algorithm would try to predict inventory levels from spreadsheets. But with physical AI, you can deploy autonomous hardware modalities to completely cover warehouse or manufacturing operations, leaving no gaps and wall-to-wall coverage. It’s 100% accurate and no fancy prediction engine is needed.
Gather AI is Building Physical Truth for the Supply Chain
What makes Gather AI truly exceptional is their hardware-agnostic approach. The company spent over four years building a unified AI layer to bring together data from different vendors' modalities and network conditions. Today, they have evolved to embed its AI vision tech stack into forklifts, cameras, wearables, and other devices to create what they call a “digital twin” of the physical warehouse environment, allowing them to collect real-time information on the movement of goods, labor, and equipment all using commodity hardware with zero additional infrastructure required. This positions Gather AI as the mission-critical foundational intelligence layer for the modern supply chain through digitizing space in real-time.
We believe Gather AI's vision of becoming the system of record for the end-to-end industrial supply chain, combined with its world-class technical team from Carnegie Mellon University, represents a transformative opportunity. The company is transitioning from an inventory and cycle counting tool into a real-world intelligence platform that delivers continuous physical truth.
We couldn't be more excited to partner with Sankalp Arora, Daniel Maturana, Geetesh Dubey, and the entire Gather AI team as they continue to solve one of the most mission-critical challenges in global logistics.
